Bounded aquifers. Several wells with time-variable pumping rates

Bounded aquifers.

Several wells with time-variable pumping rates

Test conditions and boundary conditions are similar to that of confined bounded aquifer (strip aquifer, wedge-shaped aquifer or U-shaped aquifer) and confined aquifer with one lateral boundary.

Calculation of distances from observation point to image wells for fully penetrating wells is made in the same way as for fully penetrating wells in confined aquifer (bounded or with one lateral boundary); for partially penetrating wells – as for linear source in confined aquifers (bounded or with one lateral boundary).

As in the case of unconfined aquifer of infinite extent, anisotropy on the vertical plane is taken into consideration

Whether aquifer has lateral boundaries or not, pumping test analysis is possible for any number of pumping wells, each of them being pumped at time-variable rate.
