Bounded (strip) aquifer

Bounded (strip) aquifer

Assumptions:

aquifer is confined, isotropic with two lateral boundaries (strip aquifer);

boundaries are straight, parallel, of infinite length;

drawdown can be estimated at any distance from the pumping well.

Three types of boundary conditions are considered:

1) two recharge boundaries (Dirichlet);

2) two no-flow boundaries (Neumann);

3) combined (one recharge and one no-flow boundary).

a – two recharge boundaries; b – two no-flow boundaries; c – combined boundary conditions.
